FORGOTTEN HARVEST

Are you looking to give back to your community and provide additional funding for an Organization that provides food to local charities? Then consider Forgotten Harvest. “As metro Detroit’s food rescue organization, Forgotten Harvest delivers 138,000 pounds of surplus food per day to local charities six days a week, providing families in need with fresh and nutritious food free of charge. We do this by rescuing millions of pounds of fresh & nutritious food from 800 food donors and delivering it to 250 emergency pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and mobile pantries.”

 

K-9 Stray Rescue League

Do you have a soft spot in your heart for dogs? K-9 Stray Rescue League works day in and day out to rescue adoptable dogs in the area and find their forever home. “Rescue as many well-tempered, adoptable dogs as possible from county shelters' euthanasia lists and owner surrenders, provide a humane environment for rescued dogs until permanent homes are found and educate the public on responsible pet ownership.”

 

GiGi’s Playhouse

At GiGi’s Playhouse, all ages are welcome, from pre-natal to adults. The positive and uplifting environment of GiGi’s Playhouse Detroit will empower those with Down syndrome and their families to reach their highest potential. GiGi’s Playhouse’s custom, research-based curriculum works towards advancing literacy, social skills, gross and fine motor skills, improving low muscle tone, building self-esteem, preparing for the workforce and more while fostering acceptance, awareness and networking resources for parents, siblings and the community. All programs are FREE of charge: cost will not be a barrier to achievement!
